Anna's Art Affair 2024 - rock'n'roll for the eye

The exhibition, which presents Heligoland motifs in the art genres of pop art and street art in a bunker tunnel, is entering its fourth round

What an ambience, what an exhibition! In the garden of the Hotel Rickmers Insulaner, in front of Heligoland's south beach, the path to Anna's Art Affair 2024 leads into a mural. From 28 March to 31 May, the 132-metre-long bunker tunnel, which used to be used for supplies to the Oberland, will be a very special gallery offering rock'n'roll for the eyes.

Visitors will discover international pop art and street art. More than half of the 80 or so paintings and sculptures focus on the theme of Heligoland, with works from 2024 created especially for the exhibition.

For the fourth time, the popstreet.shop gallery from Hamburg is organising the art exhibition Anna's Art Affair in friendly cooperation with the Hotel Rickmers Insulaner.

Anna's Art Affair is also a small art spectacle beyond a conventional gallery. Visitors are equipped with torches to explore the mostly colourful works in the 132-metre-long, ascending and dark bunker tunnel. Selected artists from the popstreet.shop gallery continue the centuries-old tradition of creating a cultural experience on Heligoland. The works form a bridge from maritime painting to the modern age - the gallery exclusively exhibits works of pop art (most famous representative: Andy Warhol, 1928 - 1987) and its youngest daughter, street art (most famous representative: Banksy, born 1974).
