1. Where can I use the Hamburg CARD with public transport to travel free of charge by bus and train?

valid on all buses, trains and harbour ferries of the Hamburg Transport Association (HVV)
valid on underground/underground trains, buses, metro buses, express/express buses, night buses and harbour ferries
valid without surcharge for any number of journeys in 2nd class
valid all day from 0:00 a.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following day
Ringe AB, which includes almost all tourist destinations including the airport

2. When and for how long is the Hamburg CARD valid?

The Hamburg CARD is valid per calendar day (not 24 hours) from 0:00 a.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following day.
There are day, 2-day, 3-day, 4-day and 5-day cards. The Hamburg CARD is always valid on consecutive calendar days.
The card does not need to be cancelled as it is dated.

3. How many people does the Hamburg CARD cover?

Group tickets are valid for up to 5 people of any age.
Individual tickets are valid for 1 adult and up to 3 children under the age of 15.
Children under the age of 6 generally travel free of charge on buses and trains. There is no Hamburg CARD for children.

Print@home ticket: The Print@home ticket will be sent to you by e-mail immediately after booking so that you can print it out at home.
Mobile phone ticket: For the mobile phone ticket, enter your mobile phone number in the field provided when booking and you will receive the ticket directly as a text message on your smartphone.
App ticket: You can buy the Hamburg CARD directly in the free "Hamburg - Experience and Save" app.

6. How do the mobile phone ticket, the app ticket and the online ticket for self-printing work?

You will receive the online ticket for self-printing directly as a PDF file by e-mail so that you can print it out as a DIN A4 ticket.

You will receive the mobile phone ticket as a text message directly to your smartphone and can access it via the link. To do this, enter your mobile phone number in the booking process.

You can buy the app ticket directly in the free app "Hamburg - Experience and Save".

The Hamburg CARD is valid immediately for the date you have selected. For security reasons, it is personalised and only valid in the presence of the named person (one name is entered per card - even for group cards). For technical reasons, they cannot be exchanged or returned.

7. Does the Hamburg CARD have to be cancelled?

No, the Hamburg CARD does not need to be validated. As a print@home ticket and in the free "Experience & Save" app, the Hamburg CARD is automatically valid from the start date you select.

8. How does the use of the StadtRAD with the Hamburg CARD work?

Register with StadtRAD Hamburg and benefit from particularly attractive conditions. The first 30 minutes of each journey are always free, after that you only pay €0.08 per minute instead of €0.10, saving you 25%. If you have a smartphone, you can use the StadtRAD app to directly display the available bikes and stations in your neighbourhood. It only takes a few clicks to rent your favourite bike. To redeem the Hamburg CARD discount, register here and enter the code HAMBURGCARD under "Promotional code: redeem now". The procedure is identical to direct registration in the Stadtrad app.

*A one-off registration fee of €5.00 must be paid. In return, you will receive €5.00 travel credit. From the 13th month, an annual fee of €5.00 is due.

9. Is the Hamburg CARD transferable to other persons?

No, the Hamburg CARD is not transferable. For security reasons, it is personalised and only valid in the presence of the named person (one name is entered per card - even for group cards).

10. Can I gift the Hamburg CARD?

12. Do I get a discount with the Hamburg CARD on already reduced admission prices?

No, unfortunately not. The discounts always apply to the standard price, and student or senior discounts, for example, cannot be further reduced. Discounts can only be received when purchasing at the venue. Simply present your Hamburg CARD and save money.

13. What is the Gourmet upgrade?

With the Gourmet upgrade, you save on over 100 culinary offers such as restaurants, cafés, bars and much more. You can add it to your Hamburg CARD directly during the booking process.

14. When and for how long is the Gourmet upgrade valid?

The validity of the upgrade depends on the duration of your Hamburg CARD, you can book the Schlemmerglück together with the Hamburg CARD. Subsequent booking of the upgrade is planned for summer 2024.

15. Where can I buy the Gourmet upgrade?

You will receive the Gourmet upgrade as a Print@home ticket after booking. In the free "Hamburg - Experience and Save" app, you can purchase the Gourmet upgrade directly in conjunction with the purchase of a Hamburg CARD as a supplement. 16. How does the Gourmet upgrade work?

You decide flexibly on the spot where you use your benefits and discounts. Identify yourself as the holder of the Hamburg CARD Gourmet upgrade at the participating partners before ordering. For easy redemption, simply use our free "Hamburg - Experience & Save" app. Duplication of discounts is not possible. Discounts are only granted by the provider.

17. What is the Maritime upgrade?

The validity of the upgrade depends on the duration of your Hamburg CARD; you can book the Maritime upgrade together with the Hamburg CARD. Subsequent booking of the Maritime upgrade is planned for summer 2024.

20. How does the Maritime upgrade work?

You decide flexibly on site when you use the tickets. The ticket can be used once for the entire period of validity of your Hamburg CARD.
