Alsterarkaden

Between Binnenalster and Rathausmarkt, the imposing Alsterarkaden in Hamburg invite you to take a leisurely stroll with a Mediterranean flair.

Of the original buildings, four houses with old lanterns, iron railings, gold-plated fish and tridents between the arches are still extant. 
Walk through the arcades and enjoy the Mediterranean flair and exclusive shops. Hungry? Then don’t miss the Arabic cuisine at Saliba. Afterwards, you can admire the ceiling frescoes and art-nouveau-era stained glass in the old Mellin-Passage, which leads to the Neuen Wall and is now Hamburg’s oldest shopping mile. Relaxing: On the stairs on the Fleet, feed the swans, watch the steamers on the Alster as they go through the locks - or wander down the Fleet to the Elbe.
