The world-class season of German professional golf kicks off in Hamburg - at the Porsche European Open on the Green Eagle Golf Courses in Winsen.
The summer of top-class golf promises to be an unforgettable event experience in the Hamburg metropolitan region: top international golfers will tee off for the sixth time on the Porsche North Course of the Green Eagle Golf Courses in Winsen/Luhe from June 1 to 4, 2023, and compete for one of the most prestigious titles on the DP World Tour at the Porsche European Open. The event is being organized by the experienced promoter U.COM Event (Düsseldorf) who once again aim to offer an exciting spectator experience at the third edition of this event under its management.
A Major Social Event
Players such as the German Major winner Martin Kaymer and the Englishman Paul Casey, as well as other national and international top golfers, will promote not only sporting excellence on the course, but also enrich the experience for a TV audience and, if possible, live audience as well. Dirk Glittenberg, managing director of U.COM Event, sees sporting events as much more than just a meeting of top athletes. "They are major social events that inspire people in the community in a variety of ways," says Glittenberg.
One reason for growing enthusiasm year after year is the Porsche North Course at Green Eagle Golf Courses. It is considered the most difficult golf course in Germany, is the longest course on the European Tour (7,057 meters) and is one of the ten longest in the world - and in recent times has gained an ever growing international fan base.
„Great Compliment“
"It is a sign of a great golf course if you can remember details from individual holes. And that is certainly the case here. In my eyes, that's a great compliment", says Porsche brand ambassador Paul Casey, the winner here in 2019. He concludes, "To have won on this challenging course is really special."
Hamburg is looking forward to an exciting summer of world class golf competition!
