At the 16th Hamburger Theater Festival all theatre lovers get their money's worth. Within the framework of the festival, numerous guest performances will be performed on Hamburg stages.
From spoken theatre to musical comedy to theatrical film project – the Hamburger Theaterfestivalist is the annual highlight for theatre and literature fans in the metropolis. This year the festival is taking place for the eleventh time. For the first time in spring, from April to June, renowned German-language productions will be performed in five of Hamburg's most famous theatres. These include the theatre Deutsches Schauspielhaus, the Thalia Theatre, Kampnagel, the St. Pauli Theatre as well as the Hamburg State Opera.

The project
The Theater Festival in Hamburg is a project of the private and non-profit foundation Hamburger Theater Festival. The aim of this project is not only to promote the theater itself, but to accompany Hamburg on its further way to becoming a festival city and cultural metropolis. Every year, the program features controversial, hotly debated and inspiring theater productions from German-speaking countries.
