Author and winemaker Andreas Wagner reads from his thriller "Winzerrache" and presents a selection of good wines from his Rheinhessen winery.

Revenge is lovely
- An earthquake that shook the wine world.
- The thriller about one of the biggest food scandals ever.
- 1985 - the year when the wine was sweetened with antifreeze.

A summer that has never happened before: it rains all the time in Rheinhessen. The grapes rot and the vintners fear for their harvest. When, within a very short time, thousands of liters of wine run into the sewers, the oldest vines in the village are destroyed and a headless corpse emerges, the first one dawns that the scandal of that time is back. Since the 1985 Glycol Scandal - which has largely blended wine with antifreeze - there are still a few bills left. Winegrower Kurt-Otto Hattemer begins to investigate and goes into the greatest danger.

Dr. Andreas Wagner is a winemaker, historian and author. After studying history, political science and Bohemian studies in Leipzig and Prague, he and his two brothers took over the family vineyard of his ancestors in Essenheim near Mainz in 2003. Andreas Wagner has published eight crime novels, a novel and a short story collection.

As always, there is a wine tasting suitable for the reading, expertly presented by the winemaker. Crime & Wine - the most sensible alternative to crime scene & beer. How can you spend the Sunday evening better?
