Many people take the 60th birthday as an occasion for a wistfully disillusioned look back at their lives. Not so the actress and cabaret artist Maren Kroymann, whose career is just picking up steam again. It shows us that revolution and emancipation ultimately also have an effect in old age like a fresh cell therapy with a depot function.
In her program "In my Sixties" she is devoting herself to the music of the 1960s with an unobstructed view, taboo-free verve and fresh interest on the occasion of her personal anniversary "50 Years of Puberty". This music that triggered unheard of feelings: first sexual desire, the desire for devotion, for ease, for being liberated. The songs promised a life that could be more colorful, wilder and more beautiful than that of the parent generation with their rigid morals.
In her program, the gifted singer Maren Kroymann works her way lustfully and wittily through the musical gems of the 1960s as well as through the ideological rubble. She was particularly taken with the wonderful Dusty Springfield, with that powerful voice that expressed a feminine strength that was just beginning to appear in society.
Maren Kroymann is accompanied, carried and inspired by the fabulous band with Matthias Binner (grand piano), HD Lorenz (bass), Ralf Lehmann (guitar) and Marcin Lonak (drums).
