Dance in the Elbphilharmonie: For this unusual combination, the Copenhagen Trio Vitruvi led by Alexander McKenzie brings international award-winning artists to Hamburg. In »Kammerballetten« (The Chamber Ballet) they combine the virtuosity and the intimacy of classical chamber music with modern ballet.

Please note: This event replaces the postponed concert from 24 January 2021. Tickets purchased for the postponed concert are valid for this event.

With their talent and passionate commitment, the dancers of the Royal Danish Ballet belong to the world’s dance elite. They dance in choreographies created especially for Kammerballetten by internationally renowned choreographers such as Paul Lightfoot, Kristian Lever and Ilya Jivoy. The musicians of Trio Vitruvi accompany the pieces live with cello, violin, and piano.

The purpose and aims of the Christoph Lohfert Foundation lie in improving patient orientation in the German health care system as well as the promotion of artistic projects and excellent creative artists. With the dance evening NEUE BAHNEN, the foundation is honouring the vision and work of its founder, Dr. Christoph Lohfert.

Kammerballetten was founded in 2018 by Trio Vitruvi with Niklas Walentin, violin, Jacob la Cour, cello, and Alexander McKenzie, piano, and has since presented world premieres of new ballet works at the Royal Danish Opera House in Copenhagen and at international festivals. Kammerballetten is supported by Augustinus Fonden, Copenhagen.
