THE MAGIC FLUTE (Kammeroper Gold)
Opera by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Musical adaptation by Ettore Prandi

The young Prince Tamino is sent by the Queen of the Night to rescue her daughter Pamina, who was abducted by Prince Sarastro. The bird catcher Papageno is given Tamino aside. From the still friendly three ladies of the Queen of the Night Tamino receives a magic flute, Papageno a magical carillon. The two set off to free Pamina ... ... that's how the action of the opera begins.
Hardly any other opera offers as many interpretations as "The Magic Flute". First performed in Vienna by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in 1791, it was from the outset the most popular, best-known opera among the audience and therefore the most performed opera ever.
Whether intimacy, tragedy, pathos or cunning - all human emotions find their place in this fairytale world.
Mozart and Schikaneder present their heroes in their effective opera before a series of trials in which they help with love the truth and the good to the right.
The performance of the "Magic Flute" in the Hamburg Chamber Opera sets in the staging on innovative and unusual views of this well-known opera substance. Since its founding in 1998, we have been playing Die Zauberflöte for the first time in the Hamburger Kammeroper.
