Die Elefanten kommen
On 17.10.2019 at 18.00 o'clock mayor Christina Fleckenstein opens the exhibition "The Elephants Come" by Dörte Pertiet in the Rathausgalerie Munster.
Painter and illustrator Dörte Pertiet, born in the Netherlands, has been painting since childhood. First self-taught for years and as a pure amateur. After training in retailing and some years as a specialist for crafting and art supplies, she also completed a degree in graphic design at the Kunstschule Alsterdamm in Hamburg.
Dörte Pertiet has a heart for elephants, they have been finding space for years on canvas or paper. It is the third time that she is dedicating an exhibition to the pachyderms. The works are not worked out in a naturalistic way, but always a little alienated, just as the artist with her inner eye sees them for herself and then captures them on the appropriate underground. Your work uses acrylic paint, crayons, charcoal, chalk and pigments. The background is Nessel on stretcher or sketch paper.
For the Rathausgalerie Munster, Pertiet chose works that are more sketchy. In warm natural colors, but also colorful designs are there. One of the works consists of 5 individual pictures. A herd of elephant ladies and children is moving toward the viewer.
All interested are cordially invited. The exhibition can be seen in the Rathausgalerie until January 31, 2020. Further information about Dörte Pertiet can be found at: www.doertepertiet.de
