As a counterpoint to the large Christmas market in the city center, a romantic little Advent market takes place on the castle island in Lake Rantzau during the third weekend of Advent. Visitors will find handcrafted items and Christmas gift ideas at 20 stalls. Winter food and drinks are also available. The festive atmosphere on the historically significant castle island, with its unique ensemble of buildings, makes this market a lovely pre-Christmas destination.
