Not only words can tell stories. The Slovakian conductor Juraj Valčuha has been associated with the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra for several years; this time he returns with poetry about love and death - set to music by Eastern European composers. Antonín Dvořák drew on Shakespeare's drama for his Othello. In the original score you will find pencil notes, which music belongs to which scene. And so the listener only has to listen when Othello embraces his Desdemona in blissful bliss - and when he strangles in "mad rage."
