This year, the celebrations surrounding the 829th HAMBURG PORT ANNIVERSARY will begin on Thursday, as the biggest harbour festival in the world will be celebrated for four days this time, thanks to the Ascension Day. But before the great spectacle on the Elbe and the Elbe can start, the International Ecumenical Opening Service will take place on Thursday at 2:30 pm in the Church of St. Michalis. Afterwards, Hamburg's First Mayor Peter Tschentscher opens the 829th PORT ANNIVERSARY by ringing the ship's bell on the museum ship Rickmer Rickmers at 4:30 p. m. The floating guests from all over the world are greeted with gun salutes at the big parade. Look forward to these and many other highlights you should not miss.
