Historical inn - Zum Alten Lotsenhaus

Zum Alten Lotsenhaus [The Old Pilot's House] is one of the oldest restaurants in Hamburg. This former meeting place of the Lotsenbruderschaft (pilot brotherhood) had become a public inn as early as 1801; three years ago, the historic dwelling was finally thoroughly renovated.

With stylish wooden furniture, Altes Lotsenhaus has shone in new splendour since then; the tradition of great north German cuisine continues to be duly respected. Mainly fish dishes are therefore found on the menu, like the Hamburg fried fish with roasted fillets of Norwegian salmon and cod in light white wine-Dijon mustard sauce, or the North Sea plaice Övelgönne with fresh North Sea shrimps and shellfish sauce. Attached to the restaurant is the beach bar Dock 13 which offers a wonderful view of the Elbe in the summer.
