Explore the Elbe with the hvv

A special tip for Hamburg guests is that ships are also included in the regular hvv offer. This means that you can also "set sail" with the hvv and explore parts of the Port of Hamburg and the Elbe with one of the 6 scheduled HADAG harbor ferry services.

The hvv ensures that you can get to and from anywhere easily

With around 30 transport companies, the hvv operates an extensive system of suburban trains, regional services, bus and boat lines in and around Hamburg. The extensive network of routes ensures good connections to the districts of Hamburg as well as to the Schleswig-Holstein and Lower Saxony districts bordering Hamburg.

The hvv route network. Less stress. More time

Save yourself time and stress behind the wheel. In the Hamburg AB area, S-Bahn and U-Bahn trains and MetroBuses run on weekdays from 05:00 in the morning until around 23:00, usually every 5 to 10 minutes, at least every 20 minutes. From Thursday to Saturday, buses and trains run continuously. On Friday and Saturday nights, they are supplemented by city, Xpress, regional and night buses

Park & Ride facilities in the hvv

Simply park your car at a Park & Ride facility and change to the train or bus. There are Park & Ride facilities at around 110 rapid transit and regional transport stops in the A-E rings, which are open day and night and some are even covered. There are also parking spaces for bicycles at many stops, most of which are also covered.

Accessibility at stops in the hvv area

Accessible stops and Park&Ride facilities are also marked on the route network map. The personal online timetable also offers the option of selecting criteria such as "no stairs" or "avoid changing trains". Almost all underground, suburban and regional train stops are largely barrier-free, and the use of low-floor buses is constantly being expanded. The hvv website provides an overview of the services on offer, and the brochure "Barrier-free travel" is also available for download.
