The "Halunder Jet" is the largest and most modern catamaran in the German Bight. Every year, from early April to late October, passengers can enjoy an interesting, fast and convenient journey daily.

Through huge, continuous panoramic windows over two decks, passengers have an almost all-round view of the Elbe and the North Sea, but the route can also be followed on multiple screens via external cameras and sea charts which display the vessel's current position. In good weather, you can let the sea breeze blow in your face on the open deck and enjoy the rapidly passing scenery. Inside, soft armchairs offer maximum comfort, and thanks to an atrium in the middle of the ship, the fully air-conditioned lounges are flooded with light. Food and drinks are served by stewardesses at your seat.

    High-tech on the high seas

By far the fastest ship in the German Bight is equipped with a Motion Dampening System (MDS) to ensure passenger comfort even in choppy waters: Under each of the two hulls computerised wings have been installed to counteract the movement of the ship by computer control thus keeping it perfectly stable. Night vision and the latest evacuation systems round off the safety standards on the high-tech catamaran. The trip to Germany's only deep-sea island thus becomes a pleasant and comfortable experience in itself– a "generational change" from the days of the "rolling" swell of the steamers and the ensuing "feeding of the fishes".

From Hamburg the deep-sea island of Helgoland is only reachable by the "Halunder Jet" catamaran. Due to travel time, the passenger ship "MS Atlantis" only leaves from Cuxhaven. You can also find information via the link below.
