Allee Theater is the only private chamber opera in Europe and focusses mainly on the musical theatre of the 16th to 19th century.

The program includes works from all eras, primarily from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. Current productions of renowned operas, such as "Carmen" by Georges Bizet or "The Italian Woman in Algiers" by Gioachino Rossini form the classical foundation of the programme. But the house also hosts world premières. Musical "excavations" regularly cause a stir here, most recently "Der Vampyr" by Heinrich Marschner and "Lauter Verrückte! (Che Originali)" by Johann Simon Mayr.

The works are performed in versions that reflect the conditions of a chamber opera. The necessary compression of the works is therefore intentional. However, great emphasis is placed on ensuring that the character of an opera is always maintained. In the text versions of Barbara Hass, in the place of the recitative dialogue, the plot gains in immediacy and emotions are palpable through the musical arrangements.
All versions of the Hamburg Chamber Opera are represented by stage and music publisher Ricordi.

The Hamburg Chamber Opera offers sophisticated entertainment to opera connoisseurs and would like to extend an invitation to opera novices to explore the genre of opera.

    The opera menu

Following the example of the Baroque an evening at the Hamburg Chamber Opera is a pleasure - an experience not only of sight and sound, but also for the palate. Eating, drinking and talking are just as much a part of culture as music and theatre.

The opera menus are specially "composed" for each opera by the restaurant RONDO.
