Altonaer Theater

Literary sources and historical materials are the hallmark of the Altona Theatre, now located in the centre of Altona after a colourful history and various moves. Hardly any other theatre is as representative for its district, and has at the same time such a strong impact throughout the city of Hamburg and beyond.

Stage successes such as "Mephisto", "Schiller's complete works ... slightly abridged" or bestsellers such as "Measuring the World" and "High Fidelity" have achieved cult status. Successful writers and versions specially created for the theatre stage emphasize the quality of the house.

The theatre also offers a comprehensive programme that gives the visitor a look behind the scenes as well as information and emotions about the respective productions. The "young friends" day offers great theatre for a small price on Wednesdays at €5 for schoolchildren and students (up to and including 27 years). In the prelude, you will learn more about the play, the author or the concept of the stage. At public rehearsals on selected Saturdays, the public can watch actors "unvarnished" over their shoulders!

The newly remodeled Café Oelsner awaits you before and after the show with culinary delights and delicious drinks for a great evening of theatre.
