Coming by plane

Travelling to Hamburg by plane is very straightforward – Hamburg Airport is one of the few in Europe which is situated in close proximity to the city centre and is well connected by public transport.
The international airport is served by around 60 different airlines, including scheduled airlines such as Lufthansa, Swiss, Air France, KLM, Emirates, Delta Air Lines and British Airways and charter airlines such as Condor and LTU – from approximately 125 direct destinations. The low-cost airline segment is also widely represented, with providers such as easyjet, Tuifly and germanwings. You can reach Hamburg by plane just as quickly, comfortably and conveniently from European and global metropolises such as Zurich, Vienna, London, Paris, Barcelona, Istanbul, New York or Dubai as from major German cities such as Munich, Stuttgart, Dresden or Cologne.
If you do intend to travel to Hamburg by plane, please contact the airline of your choice to enquire about accessibility facilities.
Hamburg Airport has released a brochure containing the most important aspects for visitors with restricted mobility. It can be downloaded as a PDF here:
