    A - St. Michaelis - The "Michel"

    People from Hamburg think of St. Michaelis church as "our Michel". The first Lutheran St. Michaelis church dated from 1648 to 1673. Hamburg's skyline is studded with the towers of its principal churches. The 132-metre tower of St. Michaelis, the "Michel", is the emblem of the Hanseatic city. Its platform, which can be reached via 453 steps, offers a fabulous view over Hamburg and the port.

Take your seat and enjoy an attractive and exciting city tour on one of Germany's most beautiful sections of the underground. 23 stops via Barmbek, Eppendorfer Baum, then back past Landungsbrücken.     The Feuerschiff is an old British lightship which has been single-handedly converted into a "bar-pub-restaurant-hotel-events-ship" by Captain Wulf Hoffmann and his family.

    The Cap San Diego is a museum ship moored at the Überseebrücke. You can visit everything from the impressive 11,000+ horsepower engine and the four decks up to the bridge, from the former loading bay to the passenger saloons.

    E - Landungsbrücken

    The Landungsbrücken in late evening. The tower not only tells the time it also shows the water level. The 700 metre-long floating Landungbrücken at the underground and suburban station Landungsbrücken is Hamburg's water railway station. The harbour tours start here, the ferries set off from here as do the HADAG steamers which go to Finkenwerder, Övelgönne and Blankenese. Imposing luxury cruisers are also moored here...

    F - Blohm + Voss

    From Grosse Elbstrasse, the pedestrian has a breathtaking view of the pulsating port and the docks of the BLOHM+VOSS shipyard which is steeped in tradition.

    The Elbe Tunnel was a technological marvel when it was opened in 1911. Since the new tunnel was built in 1975, the 426.5-metre Old Elbe Tunnel has become a nostalgic piece of Hamburg's history.

    I - Fish Market

Every Sunday morning from 5.00am to 9.30am (from 7.00am in the Winter) since 1703 Hamburg's most traditional market has been trading in just about anything and everything that isn't nailed down. A special highlight once the shopping is done is brunch in the historic fish auction hall.

    J - Fish auction hall

    The FISH AUCTION HALL was built in 1894 and is the impressive centre of the traditional Fish Market - a venue which is widely used today, for example for the well-earned morning pint after visiting the Fish Market. Early risers particularly enjoy brunch in the historic fish auction hall whilst listening to some jazz, skiffle or country and western music. The filigree iron construction has been listed since 1989.
